“Quality concrete” as a structural building material depends largely on the mix design, the raw materials and the production and delivery methods used. At Readymix, we recognise our clients need to have consistent delivery, guaranteed supply, and trustworthy testing.
Optimal mix design is a profession and craft based on the latest technical knowledge coupled with real “hands-on” field experience. A good mix design can not be "set and left". It must be continually fine tuned based on observation of the physical properties at the site (such as “pump-ability”, “finish-ability”, bleed and slump) and statistical analysis of all test results. It is the only way to ensure premium concrete.
At all Readymix customer sites you'll find our technicians recording observations and preparing cube tests for curing and analysis at our central laboratory. This data is then computer analysed and the results made available to our customers.
Rigorous control of raw material suppliers (such as regular quarry inspections, sieve analysis tests, inspection of crushing equipment and cement mortar tests) is the only way to ensure quality raw materials are maintained.
At our Readymix laboratories we are able to perform compressive strength tests, aggregate sieve analysis, moisture tests and cement mortar tests. All our test results have been independently verified by universities and institutes. Our regular concrete compressive strength tests are computer analysed by truck, project, customer and mix design using software specifically developed by Readymix . These results are made available to all our customers.
